The Dragon Reborn—the leader long prophesied who will save the world, but in the saving destroy it; the savior who will run mad and kill all those dearest to him—is on the run from his destiny。

Able to touch the One Power, but unable to control it, and with no one to teach him how—for no man has done it in three thousand years—Rand al'Thor knows only that he must face the Dark One。 But how?

Winter has stopped the war—almost—yet men are dying, calling out for the Dragon。 But where is he?

Perrin Aybara is in pursuit with Moiraine Sedai, her Warder Lan, and Loial the Ogier。 Bedeviled by dreams, Perrin is grappling with another deadly problem—how is he to escape the loss of his own humanity?

Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve are approaching Tar Valon, where Mat will be healed—if he lives until they arrive。 But who will tell the Amyrlin their news—that the Black Ajah, long thought only a hideous rumor, is all too real? They cannot know that in Tar Valon far worse awaits。。。

Ahead, for all of them, in the Heart of the Stone, lies the next great test of the Dragon reborn。。。。

This one took a lot longer than the 1st and 2nd book。 It was not beacuse it was worse, it's just that I want to read other things as well that's not epic fantasy even though thing is becoming one of my favourite, if not my favourite, series of all time。I can't praise Robert Jordan enough。 He is, simply put, a genius with the pen and his imagination is far beyond anything I have seen from a modern author。 Sadly great minds often die too soon and unfortunatly the same must be said for Robert Jorda This one took a lot longer than the 1st and 2nd book。 It was not beacuse it was worse, it's just that I want to read other things as well that's not epic fantasy even though thing is becoming one of my favourite, if not my favourite, series of all time。I can't praise Robert Jordan enough。 He is, simply put, a genius with the pen and his imagination is far beyond anything I have seen from a modern author。 Sadly great minds often die too soon and unfortunatly the same must be said for Robert Jordan。I was going to rate this book 4 stars, but just as the 2 last books Jordan made me change my mind in the last 100 pages with his masterful writing and solid storytelling。A STRONG 5/5 STARS 。。。more

4 🌟This is still slow and everything was wrapped up at the last 4h or so of more than 24h, but i really didn't mind its slowness, i even enjoyed traveling with these characters。 My only complain is that the men characters always say that women are odd and all that constantly 😐, i still love their povs though。 And Mat grew on me so much now。 I am so excited to continue on with this adventure 😊。 4 🌟This is still slow and everything was wrapped up at the last 4h or so of more than 24h, but i really didn't mind its slowness, i even enjoyed traveling with these characters。 My only complain is that the men characters always say that women are odd and all that constantly 😐, i still love their povs though。 And Mat grew on me so much now。 I am so excited to continue on with this adventure 😊。 。。。more

Turns out all I needed to see was less of Rand, more of Perrin to give a book five stars :D No, but really, this was my favorite of the series so far。 And Perrin’s POV has a lot to do with that (not to mention the fact that Loial is with him this time around, and I’m a huge fan of the addition of Faile)。 Out of the three boys, Perrin’s story and arc have been the most interesting。 I’m sorry to say this, but I just don’t really like Rand that much yet, I’ve seen nothing about his character that w Turns out all I needed to see was less of Rand, more of Perrin to give a book five stars :D No, but really, this was my favorite of the series so far。 And Perrin’s POV has a lot to do with that (not to mention the fact that Loial is with him this time around, and I’m a huge fan of the addition of Faile)。 Out of the three boys, Perrin’s story and arc have been the most interesting。 I’m sorry to say this, but I just don’t really like Rand that much yet, I’ve seen nothing about his character that would make me root for him and all of the girls falling for him for no reason just doesn’t feel that realistic (but that must be his ta’veren thing at play, right)。 He feels very Harry Potter to me - the least interesting character of them all。 But I guess that just goes hand in hand with the chosen one trope。 I do like the fact that Rand doesn’t really know how to deal。 He hasn’t been dealt the best hand and his struggle seems authentic。 We’ll see if he grows on me eventually。 。。。more

Re-read after years of not thinking about this series - I like Perrin a lot more this go-round, and Mat a lot less。 Not much patience for Egwene and her merry band this time, they just seem to blunder through things。 I remember them being much more canny than this, kind of disappointing。

It has a lot of LOTR tropes in it。 Good read but you'll be smacking your head everytime someone decides to hold back critical information for next to no reason beside spite。 You'll also do it everytime Rand does anything and deus ex machina his way through the story。 It has a lot of LOTR tropes in it。 Good read but you'll be smacking your head everytime someone decides to hold back critical information for next to no reason beside spite。 You'll also do it everytime Rand does anything and deus ex machina his way through the story。 。。。more

"I would rather be the hound than the rabbit。" - Nynaeve al'MearaThis was so much more amazing than the second book, and I already liked that one a lot, so。。。I think it was because we don't see a lot of Rand in this book。 Sure, he's now officially acknowledged as the Dragon Reborn, and followers are starting to gather, but so do enemies。 And if there's one thing that was always more interesting than a prophesied hero, it's his group of close friends。 So I enjoyed reading about said group。 The ad "I would rather be the hound than the rabbit。" - Nynaeve al'MearaThis was so much more amazing than the second book, and I already liked that one a lot, so。。。I think it was because we don't see a lot of Rand in this book。 Sure, he's now officially acknowledged as the Dragon Reborn, and followers are starting to gather, but so do enemies。 And if there's one thing that was always more interesting than a prophesied hero, it's his group of close friends。 So I enjoyed reading about said group。 The adventures of Egwene and how she's steadily growing out of her girlish tendencies, towards the glory that was meant to be hers。 Her path to maturity and wisdom - and harshness, too。 She reminds me a lot of the Amyrlin Seat in her treatment of traitors, and I dig it!Then, there was Mat - one of my personal favorites! How wonderful to see him being a hero himself - even reluctantly。 He's spontaneous and funny, and his antics had me cheering for him no matter the decisions he made。 Or his errant thoughts。 It's clear Mat has a cunning brain in his head, and it's amazing how everyone keeps seeing only the fool he's pretending to be! But my boy ROCKED in this book, and I had the time of my life watching him do it! And Perrin。。。 Sweet Perrin! That's my second favorite character。 He's such a teddy bear, but at times his fierceness shines through, and I'm here for it! Seeing him confused when a woman would give him attention was adorable, too。 Poor baby doesn't see what a catch he is! Hopefully, Faile will show him he's worthy of being admired, too。All the plot twists and the events in this book gave way to a spectacular climax, though we all know this is not the end。 There are many books in the series left, so I suspect this was just a mere taste of victory。 Well, buckle up, everyone, things are about to get even more exciting - I mean, we finally have the Aiel crossing the borders! My favorite WoT book so far。 It can be painfully slow at times, especially in Tar Valon, but Mat and Perrin save the book from being below average。

I was less engaged with this book than the previous two and found my attention wandering a few times (shockingly, during the Mat sections (view spoiler)[when he was without Thom (hide spoiler)]--I read skimmed entire books just for him in my previous read through!)。 The Dragon Reborn is about five hours shorter than either of its predecessors, so I can only conclude that I really missed the Rand POVs that were so central to the last two books。 While his actions drove the plot, we only got one or I was less engaged with this book than the previous two and found my attention wandering a few times (shockingly, during the Mat sections (view spoiler)[when he was without Thom (hide spoiler)]--I read skimmed entire books just for him in my previous read through!)。 The Dragon Reborn is about five hours shorter than either of its predecessors, so I can only conclude that I really missed the Rand POVs that were so central to the last two books。 While his actions drove the plot, we only got one or two short glimpses of what was propelling his actions and it didn't feel like enough。Don't get me wrong, it was still a very enjoyable 25 hours。 But I feel like taking a break from the series after finishing it, rather than being eager to dive into the next book。 。。。more

4。5 starsI couldn't tell you why, but I was so engaged in this book。 I am both glad and a little sad that it took me 11 months to continue after book 2。 Don't think I would've enjoyed this as much had I pushed on right after reading book 2, but man。。。 I could've picked it back up sooner than I did。 Was there a lot of plot progression in this book? No。 Do I care? No。 This was the most fun I have had with this series so far and I am immediately jumping into book 4, because I am just in an epic fan 4。5 starsI couldn't tell you why, but I was so engaged in this book。 I am both glad and a little sad that it took me 11 months to continue after book 2。 Don't think I would've enjoyed this as much had I pushed on right after reading book 2, but man。。。 I could've picked it back up sooner than I did。 Was there a lot of plot progression in this book? The beauty of the world created by Jordan is yet again explored in The Dragon Reborn。 This is another fun jaunt through the mysticism and wonder of The Pattern。

I've literally finished book 3 of WoT moments ago, and oh man, oh man Robert Jordan knows how to write。 The last 200 pages flew by and the last chapters had me so on edge, that I could barely hold myself on my chair。 I can't describe how this book got me excited about events, characters and twists over and over again and then shattered my expectations over and over again, in a satisfying way。 Every time I felt like I was starring into the dark and that Jordan couldn't keep this story going in an I've literally finished book 3 of WoT moments ago, and oh man, oh man Robert Jordan knows how to write。 The last 200 pages flew by and the last chapters had me so on edge, that I could barely hold myself on my chair。 I can't describe how this book got me excited about events, characters and twists over and over again and then shattered my expectations over and over again, in a satisfying way。 Every time I felt like I was starring into the dark and that Jordan couldn't keep this story going in an interesting way without any big time jump, he would just pull out another card and just blow me away。I will say this wasn't perfect, there were some timeline choices that I would have handled differently and it didn't hook me from the start, but I really do love Jordan's writing style。Spoilers for book 1-3 of WoT:First of all, Mat just got great in this book。 I mean I assume this comes from the fact that I am biased into liking biased badass fighters, but new elements like his curiosity, distrust, but a deep love and loyalty to his friends are so much more understandable through his pov。 And his "luck" that borderlines magic is such an interesting element to me, that fit the character really well。Then again he still can be a bit annoying at times, Egwene too when she felt like she HAD to rebel against Nynaeve。 Which didn't feel necessary to the story。Mathieu 13 minutes agoPerrin was great too。 The way we got to learn more about his bond with the pack, the way he got back into a bit of blacksmithing, how he built up relationships with Zarine and his exploration of his wolf-dreams with Hopper were really great。 He suffered from a bit of side lining and not the most fascinating story for most of the book, characters around him were less interesting than in other books to be honest。 Mainly Loial and Moraine were a bit disappointing, but even Lan didn't have the great moments he should have had and had in other books。Mathieu 8 minutes agoWe did get much less Rand in this book and I think the story got a LOT out of it。 I have no special dislike of Rand, but focusing on the rest of the characters was really nice。What we did get of him was AMAZING though。 Those tiny tid bits of him visibly falling into madness were so weird but a really interesting way to show this fall into saidin。 And chapter 55 "What is written in Prophecy",in which he takes hold of Callandor and hunts Ba'alzamon was an absolute jem。 also bringing back one of my favorite parts of book 2, which was the way Jordan uses the fighting forms he learned from Lan, with no more description of them。 It works really well in my mind。Mathieu 5 minutes agoNynaeve was a boss like in the other books and really growing into an Aes Sedai。 At some point Elayne tells her she is beginning to resemble Moiraine and I totally agree with that。 Egwene's role in this was also really good。 Her exploration of Tel'aran'rhiod especially stuck out to me and the visions she has made for some great notes, theories and satisfying moments when what I suspected turned out to be right。Mathieu 2 minutes agoThe way we got to learn about Aiel was great。The time in the white tower was instructive and stressful。Mat's "training" fight with Elayne's brothers (whose names are escaping me right now) was so, so good, and I heard someone say before I read it that book 3 re-establishes Mat as a character and point of interest which it's so true。Mathieu 1 minute agoBut all in all, I have no idea what Jordan plans to do next, which is not a bad thing to me, and I am excited to keep going with all what is to come。 。。。more

This is the third book in the Wheel of Time series。 From the title, I was already expecting what would happen, but this book was also centered on the other characters which may play a big part in the the series。 The Dragon Reborn was smooth sailing for me, unlike The Eye of the World which I felt was longer, because of the world building, but honestly, the first book had more dragging scenes than this one, but not as full of events as The Great Hunt。 Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne are more evolved h This is the third book in the Wheel of Time series。 From the title, I was already expecting what would happen, but this book was also centered on the other characters which may play a big part in the the series。 The Dragon Reborn was smooth sailing for me, unlike The Eye of the World which I felt was longer, because of the world building, but honestly, the first book had more dragging scenes than this one, but not as full of events as The Great Hunt。 Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne are more evolved here, although Egwene appeared more impatient here than Nynaeve。 I was expecting more storyline with Rand, but he was here in bits and pieces, while Perrin’s character is slowly developing。 I can somehow see what they can contribute to the Pattern, but then, I’m only on the third book。 Mat, on the other hand, is a delight here。 He’s a little more mature, and thought of himself less。 I’m beginning to see a pattern here, about how Robert Jordan weaves his story, I’ll see of it’s the same with the rest。 I am enjoying this series so far and enjoyed this book。 Out of the 3 books I’ve read, I like The Great Hunt the best。 So I’m excited to read The Shadow Rising, which I’ve already included in my November reads。 ☺️ 。。。more

Thats it。。。 I give up on Wheel Of Time。。。。WoT doesn't seem to be my piece of cake。 The only thing that really captured me was the world building。 I was really marveled by the fantasy world that Jordan had created but the plot was a great disappointment for me。 The chosen one trope is out for me which must have been the main reason for it。 The characters too, none of them got into me as they usually do。 Thats it。。。 I give up on Wheel Of Time。。。。WoT doesn't seem to be my piece of cake。 The only thing that really captured me was the world building。 I was really marveled by the fantasy world that Jordan had created but the plot was a great disappointment for me。 The chosen one trope is out for me which must have been the main reason for it。 The characters too, none of them got into me as they usually do。 。。。more
